Everyone Who Asks Receives

Day 195 It has been six months since I have had a seizure. God has always answered my prayers. Yesterday I was reading Matthew 7: 7-10:

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks,

the door will be opened.9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or

if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?"

My son's birthday comes three days after we celebrate Christ's birthday. And everyone is always scrambling after Christmas to make sure that they have him a birthday present. This year, I was late to his birthday party because I was picking it up at Best Buy on the way to the party. I had him several small things, but I did not know what he really wanted. But when he finally told me that he wanted, I dropped everything, picked up my computer to do some research, and I ordered him an Echo Dot. The original "bread" he asked for was a Google Mini, but after researching the pros and cons of both, we decided on the Dot. And we have been happy with Alexa.

So of course because Mike and I try to give our child what he asks for when what he asks for is appropriate, then it should not surprise me that my heavenly father will do the same thing. So in the year 2018, I am not going to be afraid to ask for what I want. I am not talking about material things, like an Echo Dot. I want to write. I want to be a writer. I want to use my writing to help others and to glorify God. But I also want to write because I love to write.

Sometimes we forget that we can ask for what we want. So think about what you want, and ask God to make it happen.
